A Family Thread

My journey from art to fashion wasn’t a sharp turn — it was a gentle unfolding, like fabric rolling off a bolt. My mother and grandparents were tailors in Paris during the 1970s, and I grew up with their stories, their craftsmanship, and their love for beautiful things made by hand. As a child, I would design clothes for my dolls, and my mother would bring those designs to life at her sewing machine. Looking back, I see now how deeply those moments shaped me — they planted the seeds of what would become ZOKKI BEE.

Creating Through Crisis

In tough times, creativity became my refuge. During the economic struggles of my childhood, my grandmother and I would reuse whatever materials we had to make something special. We transformed curtains into dresses, old jeans into something fresh and bold. It wasn’t just about necessity — it was about finding beauty in what was available, and making it our own. That spirit — of resourcefulness, resilience, and reimagination — still guides me today.

Art as Energy

When I paint, I pour emotion into every stroke. It’s a meditative process — one that feels like a dance between soul and surface. Over time, I started to feel that my art wanted to move, to live beyond the walls of a gallery. I began experimenting with painting directly onto fabric, and it was like something clicked. Each piece came alive in a new way. It felt like my art had found its second skin.

That was the moment ZOKKI BEE was truly born — not just as a brand, but as a calling.

From Redcliffe with Love

In 2016, I moved to Redcliffe, Queensland with my husband Steve, and we opened Oasis Café — a warm, welcoming space where creativity and community could flourish. Above our café, we built a hidden little gallery studio where I could paint and dream. It was there, in that cosy upstairs corner, that the first ZOKKI BEE garments were created.

Every piece I design is infused with love, colour, and positive energy. My mission is simple: to help women feel radiant, confident, and connected — to themselves and to the world around them. I believe fashion should be slow, intentional, and made with care. That’s why ZOKKI BEE collections are small, ethical, and timeless — because beauty shouldn’t come at the cost of the Earth or our values.

Wearable Magic

ZOKKI BEE isn’t just fashion. It’s an extension of my art, my roots, and my belief in the power of self-expression. I see every woman as a walking canvas — strong, soft, wild, wise, and beautiful in her own unique way. I design for the woman who wants to stand out without shouting, who dresses for joy, and who believes that clothing can be a kind of magic.

From brushstrokes to fabric folds, my journey has been anything but ordinary. And yet, every part of it feels like home. Art gave me my voice. Fashion gave me my wings.

Thank you for walking this path with me — and for wearing my story, stitched with love, colour, and a little bit of stardust.

With love,
Zokki B
